Adoption Process
1) Fill out the application - We are a small rescue and it may take a few days to get back with you regarding your application
2) Meet and Greet at the Rescue - This is chance to see if the dog and the potential owner are a good match.
3) 24 - 48 hour preparation period - If the dog and potential owner are a good match, we ask that you take this time to prepare your home for your future family member.
Our goal is to find forever homes for our lovable friends. To ensure a smooth transition from our home to yours, we ask new owners to do the following
1) Continue with crate training
All of our dogs are crate trained. This creates a safe environment for our animals and helps with house training. We ask that new owners continue this in their homes. You can read more about the benefits of crate training in this article written by the AKC
2) Hand Feeding
All of our new volunteers hand feed the dogs their breakfast and dinner. This helps them build a trusting relationship with the dogs. This relationship helps when giving commands or dealing with unexpected emergencies. We ask our new owners to hand feed their new dog until they have built that relationship. You can read more about the benefits of hand feeding in this article written by the AKC
